has data on more than 4,300 infrastructure projects in 137 low- and middle-income countries. The
database is the leading source of PPI trends in the developing world, covering projects
in the energy, telecommunications, transport, and water and sewerage sectors.

This note analyzes the short-term impact of the crisis by reviewing 714 infrastructure projects with private participation in developing countries which were trying to raise financing on project finance basis or were in advanced tender stage between January 2008 and June 2009.
In 2008, 56 transport projects with private participation reached financial or contractual closure in 26 low- and middle-income countries. Note 25 October 2009
